What is Sustainable development?
Sustainable development has been defined by many ways but the one which was frequently used was that “Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”
Different summits were held supporting sustainable development , starting by the Millennium summit in 2000 in which the world countries declare the Millennium development goals till the historic UN summit which was held in late 2015 in the 70th anniversary of the united nations to declare the world’s 17 sustainable development goals that complete and build on the success of the MDGs. In 1 January 2016, the 17 sustainable development goals of the 2030 Agenda of sustainable development adopted by world leaders in September 2015 officially came into force. This summit was followed by the High level political forum which was held in June 2016 and each country was presenting its annual sustainability report to show to what extent it made progress towards reaching a sustainable global world.
