On the occasion of the 11th annual international conference of Ain Shams University, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metiny, the President of Ain Shams University awarded DCarbon the prestigious award of Sustainability and Climate Change Partner of Ain Shams University on its pioneering role in developing the first-of-its-kind innovative study on decarbonizing the patient journey pathway.
The study was conducted in cooperation with Sanofi and Ain Shams University & aimed to calculate the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions reduction resulting from Telemedicine, piloting Atopic Dermatitis & Asthma virtual clinics in Ain shams university Hospital.
The methodology applied involved a comprehensive analysis of the environmental impact of regular patient visits, identifying areas of improvement, and implementing virtual clinics as a sustainable alternative. The study results were highly encouraging, showcasing a significant reduction in carbon emissions and energy consumption, contributing to the global effort towards fighting climate change.
The 11th annual international conference of Ain Shams University witnessed the honoring of Dr. Mahmoud Moheieldien the Honorary doctorate for his efforts in sustainability and climate change, as well as honoring Vodafone Egypt, Sanofi, and DCarbon for their contribution to the digitalization of the healthcare sector in Egypt.
