Training Overview

DCarbon Training Academyleading the process of sustainable transition in Egypt, is launching its “Life Cycle Assessment” training program to support large corporations and small and medium enterprises to sustainably grow and create value to business.

This training program will introduce the participants to the basic concepts of applying Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) standardized methodology and its relation to several topics such as sustainability, environmental systems and environmental inputs and outputs. The LCA  standards are provided by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in ISO 14040 and 14044, and introduce the four main phases of LCA: Goal Definition, Life Cycle Inventory, Life Cycle Impact Assessment, Life Cycle Interpretation including the social and economic dimensions. The application of Life Cycle Assessment methodology will be presented through case studies.

Thus, key industries apply the life-cycle approach to balance productivity, innovation and eco-efficiency in business.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a leading ISO-compliant method that evaluates environmental impacts associated with the overall product’s life cycle, covering all life stages, from raw materials extraction, manufacturing, production, distribution, use and disposal. LCA is also used to optimize production systems, for example the product design, R&D, the resource allocation and the selection of technologies.

With LCA, companies ensure corporate credibility, and provide decision-makers, stakeholders and consumers with reliable and transparent data regarding their goods and services. Hence, LCA benefits both business competitiveness and environmental performance, aiming at a better and sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystem.
